CVEA Retirement Incentive Program 2009-2010

Option I-Teacher Emeritus Program January 31, 2010 Retirement

  1. Employees must have completed ten or more years of service with Cajon Valley Union School District, must have 25 or more years of STRS service credit and must be eligible for STRS retirement.   Note:  Employees who have received the retirement longevity of $4292.00 for 30 or more years of service in the district or have participated in the Reduced Workload program, are not eligible to receive this incentive.
  2. On or before January 29, 2010 employees must submit an irrevocable resignation for retirement effective January 31, 2010.
  3. The retired teacher will continue to serve as "Teacher Emeritus" in their own classroom from February 1-June 18, 2010 at the rate of $175.00/per day.
  4. Teachers selecting this option are required to fulfill the same requirements as active employees.
  5. The retirement incentive program will provide a $42,500 cash award to each eligible employee.  State Preschool teachers will receive 75% of the incentive amount

Option 2-Teacher Emeritus Program February 28, 2010 Retirement

  1. Employees must have completed ten or more years of service with Cajon Valley Union School District, must have 25 or more years of STRS service credit and must be eligible for STRS retirement.   Note:  Employees who have received the retirement longevity of $4292.00 for 30 or more years of service in the district or have participated in the Reduced Workload program, are not eligible to receive this incentive.
  2. On or before February 26, 2010 employees must submit an irrevocable resignation for retirement effective February 28, 2010.
  3. The retired teacher will continue to serve as "Teacher Emeritus" in their own classroom from March1-June 18, 2010 at the rate of $175.00/per day.
  4. Teachers selecting this option are required to fulfill the same requirements as active employees.
  5. The retirement incentive program will provide a $34,500 cash award to each eligible employee. State Preschool teachers will receive 75% of the incentive amount

Option 3-One Time Cash Award Program

  1. Employees must have completed ten or more years of service with Cajon Valley Union School District, must have completed the 2009-2010 school year and must be eligible for STRS retirement.   Note:  Employees who have received the retirement longevity of $4292.00 for 30 or more years of service in the district or have participated in the Reduced Workload program, are not eligible to receive this incentive.
  2. On or before February 26, 2010, employees must submit an irrevocable resignation for retirement effective no later than June 30, 2010.
  3. The retirement incentive program will provide a $17,500 cash award to each eligible employee. State Preschool teachers will receive 75% of the incentive amount.
